My fall knit list

Can you believe it’s almost September? Besides hunting for a few perfect finds to add to my closet for fall, I’ve also been sorting through a heap of knitting ideas– looking for projects that are unique, stylish and simple-to-make. These four rose to the top because they check all three boxes.

I love the edgy, tattered effect provided by some strategically dropped stitches on this triangle scarf by Sachiko Burgin on Ravelry. P.S. If you like to knit, Ravelry is an endless source of knitting inspiration. You need to create a free account to access all the patterns– some free, some for a small price.

How much do you love this ombré accordion cowl from Cornflower Blue Studio? It has such great volume, plus the tonal palette is such a fun twist. I’ll be making this in autumn-inspired shades of warm merino wool.

Confession: I have never made a sweater, I’m kind of intimidated. So I’ve been working my way up to it. And this cool “miner’s vest” from rosetung on etsy seems like a logical and so-stylish next step in my progression. Note: this one is crocheted not knitted. The tall cloud scarves made by rosetung are definitely worth checking out, too.

Last but not least, C has requested a new, even slouchier version of this hat from The Purl Bee in a rusty orange. I made her a color-blocked grey and blue one last year with some leftover merino, but I had to skimp a bit on the slouch because I was running out of yarn.
